Registration is now open for the Laura’s Village September Village Workshop, a three-morning experience designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to build friendships, strengthen life skills, and experience the joy of making a meaningful contribution to their community.
During the workshop, participants will work together on hands-on service projects benefiting several incredible local nonprofit organizations:
Promising Pages – Preparing literacy-related materials to support children.
Bags of Hope – Assembling snack bags for children experiencing food insecurity.
Little Smiles – Creating cards to bring comfort, encouragement, and joy to children.
Council on Aging – Making pet toys for the beloved pets of homebound seniors.
These projects provide more than an opportunity to give back. Participants will practice important skills such as teamwork, communication, fine motor skills, problem-solving, and community engagement while developing confidence and building relationships with others.
At Laura’s Village, we believe every adult has unique gifts, talents, and abilities to share. Creating opportunities for adults with I/DD to serve others helps strengthen their sense of purpose, independence, and belonging while demonstrating the important contributions they can make within their communities.
